Still an issue on the latest version (7.5.2.0)... The progress-bar slowly fills up, then when it's less that 1/4 of the way full, it whizzed all the way across and fills-up, while the scan still has another 30 seconds (or so) to go... (Under Windows 11 23H2)

Hi Guys, Whenever I create or extract a large archive (typically containing a single 10-25GB file) the process appears to be complete (the progress-bar is full/complete and the remaining time is 00:00) however it still takes around 3-5 minutes before the program windows disappears and the complete archive or extract file appears in the destination location. During this time my system (Win 11 23H2, i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD) slows to an absolute crawl... I assume this is due to the files being copied...

Yes, I can see that the portable isn't really meant to be plonked where I've put it. I managed a workaround but placing v7.1.0 in the folder, running it, then exiting and replacing with various new files from the 7.1.2 portable distribution. Worked fine after that. Seems to be a permissions thing - runs fine in my downlaods folder, but when I plonk it into the 'Program Files' directory, it doesn't start - again, not an issue with v7.1.0... Any idea what permissions I need to give - the folder is owned by the admin user...

7.1.0 Scanning progress-bar not working as expected

Hi, This has been an issue for a while and it apeears to be the same in 17.01-beta (64 bit Windows 10). I have a .7z archive which contains a number of files (.doc,.xls, .txt, etc...) which I regularly edit. To do so, I open the archive and double-click on the file I wish to edit, which then opens Excel, Word and my text-editor. I edit the file (this may take a few seconds or it could take an hour, depending on the file and what I'm doing with it. More often than not I'm also using other applications...
