In order to be able to copy on one computer and paste on another I have two computers in my home network set up to use ditto with the ditto database stored on a network drive which both have r/w access too. This works great most of the time. However periodically, when one computer starts up the history list of prior copies is empty. To correct, I just go into options - database path - and even thought the shared Ditto.db file is listed I have to click on the three dots '(...') beside it, and then...

I am having the same issue with the latest version of the Raspberry OS Bullseye. I tried both solutions written up here: https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/47645/vnc-on-raspberry-pi-will-only-show-desktop-for-root-user but neither worked. Also, the cursor is an arrow (as per my setting) but there is an X underneith it (screenshot attached)
