Downloaded 3.4. Thank you, Peter! Opening screen showed lots of earlier books, with the last one highlighted, which was good. But on trying to open that last one I suffered a crash. I don't remember which version that one was using, sorry! I chose not to abort but went on. Now all I can see is the Loading Saved Data... panel, stuck near the beginning of its run. Ctrl+Alt+Del... Starting a new game seems fine. Chose Romans so as to see the new units you talked about.

Do you have OneDrive or some other cloud-based application? It may have stored copies and be accessible by the program.

Checked a few subfolders - yes, as I suspected, the Book numbers increment no matter which mod one is playing with - UNLESS they were saved in AppData\Roaming, where at least two of my games with dh2.9 (I know they were, because I renamed them to say they were 2.9) were saved in August 2025 (and where hundreds of my original C-evo games are). Building Eiffel Tower after your Pyramids become obsolete ought to revive your Pyramids so that you can build army of slaves - but it doesn't in my latest game under latest download, 3.1 - "Book 56 35%100% beginner to show bonus tiles". OK, very short new game, using name RFP'2512test, from C:\Games\FreeCol\1.2.0\FreeCol.exe. Sailed west, ending ship's turn at coast. Activated soldier. Landed soldier beside camp.
