Bump 2018-08-19 with latest stable version 18.05. Just was extracting a folder of zips. Realised I'd chosen the wrong option. Hit escape to cancel. Pressed cancel. Now program is still responsive but doing nothing. Keep getting dialogue "Are you sure you want to cancel?" When I click Yes just dumps me back to the 7-zip extracting interface where I can click cancel yet again to no avail. This error could not be replicated after I force quit 7-zip! Next extraction with same files proceeded just fine....

Yesterday I messed up a (small) batch of photos because digital zoom was accidentally activated :). Luckily I caught it before too much damage had been done (I was taking pictures of the interior of a wall to photo stich them together into a larger image).

Dear Mark, thank you for the suggestions. I will give them a try when I get a chance. Yes, the app store binary does work on my Samsung Galaxy S5 running LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1.2). Since posting this message I've managed to confirm a few things: the error is something specific to the Samsung Galaxy S5 (running Lineage OS 14.1, aka Android 7.1.2, yes 7.1.2, not 7.1.1) My own build of the source works in multiple VMs and it works on a (underpowered) Sony D2004 (tangent) I kind of like IntelliJ/Android...

Hmm. Got the same error when using the .zip of 1.42.2. Using Linux Mint 18.03 with Android Studio. Leaving for work soon. Will have to experiment with a VM when I get that set up (KVM isn't active on my Linux Mint install so haven't been able to try out a VM). Or see if this works under Windows. Though, it doesn't make sense to me that this UTF-8 illegal start byte error wouldn't also cause headaches with the VM. A/art: art/runtime/java_vm_ext.cc:470] JNI DETECTED ERROR IN APPLICATION: input is not...

Could I have run into a legitimate problem in the Open Camera code rather than my own teething pains in getting Android Studio working? https://stackoverflow.com/questions/12127817/android-ics-4-0-ndk-newstringutf-is-crashing-down-the-app

Hello all, I thought I'd experiment with Open Camera and determine if I could make some meaningful modifications (e.g. disable zoom, change focusing behaviour). I've met with some success. Open Camera builds and runs on my LineageOS Galaxy S5. However, it crashes with a fatal error after it asks for the second of the four permissions prompts. I'm using (latest) source code downloaded on the evening of 11/2/18 and the version number reported in Android is 1.43wip. I will try an earlier version of...

In Open Camera v 1.42.2 when I set Focus to Locked the setting is not honoured when the camera uses flash to light up the scene. When I force the flash to remain off Focus -> Locked does persist, and, if it's in flash_auto, if the light intensity increases enough to allow the flash to remain off the previously acquired focus lock persists. There are two conditions that are applied to this situation that don't make sense in the context of locked focus: If flash_auto is active then focus will remain...
