Hi Miro, the size of the RP2040s UART FIFOs is 32 bytes for TX and 32 bytes (plus 4 status bits) for RX (the RP2040 incorporates an ARM PrimeCell UART PL011, the same as is used by the Raspberry Pi as far as I know). As far as I can see, the Pico SDK contains functions to use the FIFOs and I am quite sure having seen an example in the pico-examples directory that shows how to do it. The RP2040 also has the ability to use DMA to transfer data to and from the UART (using the FIFOs), if wanted. Is it...

Hi Miro, I don't use the FIFO, the command to activate it is commented out. But in fact, it does not change anything. I have already tried different combinations. I have also looked at the functions uart_putc() and uart_putc_raw(). These functions use uart_write_blocking(), a function that checks the UART flag register and waits until the TX FIFO is empty before writing to the data register. This is in fact the same as is done before the call of uart_putc_raw() in QK::onIdle(), i.e. call uart_is_writable(QS_UART)...

Hi Miro, Is this also valid if the second core is disabled? As far as I know the second core of the RP2040 needs to be explicitly enabled, what is not the case here. The problem is only in QS; I have started a different project using QP/C++ without QP/Spy that uses only one core of the RP2040 and works. Ralf

Dear all, I am currently trying to set up a small QP application template with QP/Spy for the Raspberry Pi Pico (RP2040/Cortex-M0+) and would like to use QP/Spy with a serial connection. Unfortunately I get a lot of error messages from the QSPY host component. In my BSP I set up the UART using the Pico SDK functions which should work because I don't have problems using them for "normal" I/O. Could you please have a look at the messages (see below)? Perhaps you will see at a glance what I am doing...

Hello Miro, you are right. What I would like to do goes beyond the use case you have described. Kind regards, Ralf

Dear all, after quite a long pause I would like to come back to application development with QP and the Qt integration. The examples I have seen are built around one main window (GUI) and there is only one single instance of a corresponding Active Object (e.g. Pelican and AO_Pelican). But what if a Qt application needs to open multiple main windows (in pure Qt: multiple instances of QMainWindow for example)? If I get it right this would mean having multiple instances of the GUI object and the Active...

Puh, it took me 4 days until I realized that I had not initialized the queue in the transmitter AO. The others were fine but this one I had forgotten :-( That was the reason why no event was stored in the queue. Strange enough, there was no message or assertion... Ralf
