If i'm not wrong this is a Equalizer APO limitation (not having height channels).
If you like oal_dflt, try playing with SADIE_D02 from 3DJ database: https://airtable.com/appayGNkn3nSuXkaz/shruimhjdSakUPg2m/tbloLjoZKWJDnLtTc Both oal dflt and SADIE_D02 uses KEMAR dummy head which good for a lot of people. The tonality of SADIE actually sounds way better for me, so i thought it could be the same for you!
Nice!
Probably just a false positive i guess. Never had any issues with HeSuVi before.
Hey, i know this is an old thread already, but damn, i tried this yesterday and i'm in shock by how good it sounds. Oh, so you have Realtek, as i do. I don't use VB-cable, ks repeater, nothing like that, i just apply EQ APO default settings directly into my Realtek (ALC887) onboard soundcard, set the channels to 7.1 using the UWP Realtek audio console, and everything works fine here; been using this way for years now. Maybe it can work for you too.
I think DTS Sound unbound profiles from Airtable would be great for you. This dts preset that comes by default with HeSuVi seems old and is probably dts headphone x v1, whereas DTS sound unbound has v2 version and has a more updated virtual surround. To me it sounds pretty much as the real app, the soundstage is wide and the bass is great.
