Thank you. :)
7za.exe doesn't support .rar archives. It won't unpack the newer, default, Rar format, however it supports the old style Rar archives. If you create a Rar archive with the -m4 switch, 7za will unpack it. The archive I noticed the strangeness on, must have been an older format one. In any case, I've switched to using 7z.exe for my scripts.
When you extract files from the command line, using the command; 7z.exe e archive.7z It properly extracts all the files to the current directory as it should, but it also creates empty directories, even though it doesn't put the files inside them. Is there any way to stop it from creating these empty directories?
I recently discovered that the command line 7z.exe included with the main 7zip package, and 7za.exe, included in the Extras package, behave differently when extracting certain files. I have a Rar file that contains a 7zip archive inside it, as well as another file. If I extract it with 7z.exe, it extracts both files exactly as it should. However if I use 7za.exe, it directly extracts the contents of the 7zip archive from within the Rar file, and then ignores the other file in the archive. I can't...
I appreciate your efforts to fix this game. Want to see something really trippy looking? Install the Jedi Knight Enhanced files and run the game in software mode. :)
It could be something specific to XP, or my hardware, or even my graphic card drivers. :(

Out of all the problems I've seen people mention in regard to running the game on newer systems, crashing wasn't one of them. I'll admit that I probably load saves more often than others, but it even crashed a couple times when just loading the last save after running the game. I'd offer to send you the crash details, but naturally it won't let me copy the text and although it says a text file was created in local settings\temp, there isn't one. :(
