    Hey, started my computer today and used the backup header and tried two different versions of the same password (one with a capital letter and the other without) and it worked. Thanks for the info!

    I have checked the password and it is correct. And, the hash is set to Autodetection. And, I did not use any custom PIM value (not sure what that is, sorry, I am a bit ignorant of these matters). So, I hope I did what you asked above correctly. I opened VeraCrypt, selected the file, chose "Mount volume with options," checked "Use backup header embedded in volume if avaiable" and clicked OK, and then entered the p/w.     I appreciate the help and tried to mount it using that option, but it still gave me the same error. The last time I mounted the partition was Oct. 30 and it worked fine. Could the partition be corrupted? I have it located on my system SSD drive and Win 10 works fine, as do my other programs. And, I do not remember anything weird happening with my PC this week.

    First, let me thank you for any help you can give. My problem is that when I turned on my computer this morning, I can no longer mount my Veracrypt encrypted volume. The program acts as it does when I put the correct password in (i.e., the wait bar goes by two times before the main screen of Veracrypt in the background creates a ghosted red square over the "x" in the top right corner), but then it seems to recycle and goes much long and says that the operation failed due to "-incorrect password...Incorrect...
