have tried chaning the user agent string on browser, can confirm it no longer works for watching age restricted videos without logging in... only workaround I have found (on browser) is to use https://www.youtube.com/embed/<videoid>

I found you also have to untick "remember time position" , if you don't do it you'll end up with the same error, even in relative mode, when you open a previosly opned youtuve video that wasn't stopped at the end (so it starts in the middle of the video) Do you think this will be corrected by the mplayer project? or they just gave up on windows XP altogheter ?
Thank you Ricardo.. so I guess it would be wise to get the installer to set the option from the installer to relative when installing on windows xp, just as MPV is disabled by default.
