Hi there! I had exactly the same problem with my setup. The app would work initially, but after a restart or moving files, the sound signals would disappear even if the 'Play sounds' option was checked. The issue is usually related to Windows security permissions (UAC) when the app is located in 'Program Files', or a broken file path in the app's configuration.
