Hello, I have continued working on the "Thallium" project. The result is an include file for each of the ATtiny1607 and AVR128DA48 controllers (with the latter showing only marginal differences compared to the include file for the AVR128DA28 controller). Naturally, I have also updated all the corresponding demonstration files. You can find all the files in the ZIP archives below. This means Thallium portings are now available for the following six controllers: AVR128DA28, ATmega328(p)(pb), ATmega2560,...

Yes, of course. I would be very happy about that.

Hello, I'm pleased to present a practical application for my suggestion from January 26, 2026. It concerned the display of large digits on an inexpensive LCD2004. The enclosure (124 x 72 x 38 mm) likely comes from China and is offered here by various online retailers under different names (Reichelt: Box4u 4U-120704, Conrad: TRU COMPONENTS TC-7910892). The circuit board and the LCD fit perfectly into the enclosure. Attached are the program, some pictures, and the corresponding KiCad files. Best regards,...

Great, thumb up for your project! I've never tried that, but maybe two shift registers could help, e.g. of type 74HC166.

Hi, I have collect together some files here that I believe are not uninteresting for use with GCB. It's about a CDC bootloader for the PIC16F145x chips, whose USB functions can also be used for custom applications. The bootloader appears with a COM port in the Windows Device Manager. Since almost all programming languages can access COM ports, it's relatively easy to write PC applications that can communicate with the own program on the chip. Here's the background to my project: About 12 years ago,...

Thank you for your comment. Indeed, it's a AM-radio. I've never looked at it that way before. You can only receive one radio station, and this station has a very boring playlist. In the 1980s, a trade magazine published instructions for building a DCF77 receiver. It had an intermediate frequency of 625 Hz. This frequency pulsed with the time signals. To tune the receiver, you had to listen to this tone for a long time. I still remember that annoying sound very well.

Hi, I'm pleased to announce the completion of the porting of the Thallium core to the ATmega128 and the adaptation of the corresponding application examples. Since someone might be interested in seeing my test environment, I've included a picture, even though I'm sure I wouldn't win any awards with this setup. Ralf
