Hi, I actually had this activated on my old DS212j The DS went to sleep after a while and its LED was turning orange. Shutting down turned the LED off completely, so there was a specific state to that. My new DS918+ does not seem to have this option. But I am also running Docker on it, which prevents the included auto-standby/shutdown as far as I know. Anyway, I am pretty sure that there have been options on the old versions of DSM which allowed my DS212j to go to sleep and also deep sleep. If the...
Hi McM, yes I considered that, but as suggested I would have to use different software and as far as I know mostly a manually triggered wake event. My old diskstation didn't run so much background services so it went to sleep by itself. Waking up was as easy as clicking on the shared network folder in windows explorer, or just open an app like Kodi and wait for 6-10 seconds. That's why I asked for this option. I consider it way more convenient. But of course your suggestion is my workaround if this...
Yes it would be WOL. If the DS is in hibernation it is enough for me to click on a network link on my computer to wake it. Unfortunately this is not working if it got shut down before. My DS has WOL activated and I read about that it should even wake up when it is shut down, but it doesn't. I have a DS 918+ btw BR, Phil
Sleep instead of PowerOff
Hi Renaud, +1 from me for this feature. I am using some packages which prevent hibernation. I tried your power manager to get around that, but the shutdown is too much. I have to manually turn the DS on again. An auto-poweron with power manager is also not what I want to use, because the times I use my DS are not that regular. Is there actually still active development? BR, Phil
