Ok, that makes more sense now. And I disabled the Mount all hosted VeraCrypt volumes in Preferences and then under Favorite Volumes, I enabled Mount selected volume at logon. Works fine now. Thanks so much for your help.

Yeah, I see that now. Yes, background was enabled. Even though it didn't make sense that the antivirus was interfering (since if I cancel and open VeraCrypt and click on Mount and type the password the drive is mounted with antivirus running) - I checked with it turned off and it had no effect (still would not mount the drive).

I am clueless as to what is going on with my auto mount. I am a novice with VeraCrypt. I created a 2G encrypted file/drive and set it up to automount at WIndows logon. So at Windows startup, the password window for my file/drive pops up and I type the password and I get an error. Yet if I open VeraCrypt and do a manual mount, I type in the same password and it mounts without issue. I am clueless as to why this is happening, and would like some help to figure out what I have set up incorrectly here....
