Good morning, I start again to use BRL-CAD after a period of "stop". Right now I completed again the tutorials on the volume II "Introduction to mged", but I never use it to do a personal project. I try others open source cad, but I discarded it for various reason (Freecad don't have assembly capability and is quite instable, Salome is intended for FEM, SolveSpace is really good but become incredibly slow with assembly) and I choose to try BRL-CAD in a serious way. So, I have a question: I need to...

Sure, you can do that. You typically introduce geometry errors when you export, particularly when you change geometry representation formats (e.g., boundary NURBS to triangles), but that may not matter if your goal is just pretty pictures. Good morning. If not to obtain pretty picture, where are the other goals of raytracing? In engineering terms. Thanks

Hello, I have a question. I need to create an assembly with different parts, made with different materials, and I need to find center of mass and inertia of that assembly. Can I do that? Thanks

I read now your answer ;) That's the problem, I have the x11 development, and that's why I don't know why it didn't work. I have the 7.24 installed, but... I'm scared if I want to update it!

I'm doing in this moment the tutorials of brl-cad, after that I'll start the tutorials of calculix and netgen. Only to say that I'm a newbie with these software (I use at work PTC Creo). I want to design with brlcad, export, and doing some simulation with calculix. To create the mesh, I'm thinking to use Netgen. I read that netgen permit to create a CSG mesh. There is a way to convert directly the CSG file from brl-cad to the netgen format? Thank you
