Selecting a Speeder involves not only memory and a parallel cable but also activates the Speeder hardware. If the Speeder is set to "manual" with the memory, parallel cable, and firmware configured manually, the correct Speeder hardware is not emulated. The Speeder consists of not merely memory, a parallel cable, and firmware, but also dedicated hardware.
