I'm really sorry to hear this bad news. Someone probably reported the software, claiming it could be used for illegal activities, which led to the account being deleted. Unfortunately, the general trend is increasingly toward controlling and monitoring what people do, and there is less and less respect for privacy. Is there no way to get around this limitation, even temporarily? Perhaps by restricting the software, for now, to non-system partitions and volumes?

My point of view is that you have to understand the changes and behave accordingly. If someone sets a trap in my way, I change my ways and move on. As long as I can. Some trends like the one towards the cloud or the fact that each new version of Win spies more than the previous one have been evident for some time. I adapt and change direction, if possible. Many others won't do it and will chase the latest trend. Now artificial intelligence is in fashion, they want to stick it everywhere... Ok If...

Windows 11 has been around for a while and some functionalities still do not work there. Without an update, future versions of Windows could lead to incompatibilities with Veracrypt. Who can assure otherwise? Win 11 already now is a giant spyware and is full of bugs. Win 12 will be partially cloud and can only run from the cloud. Office of the future will be cloud-only. It's sad and it bothers me but that's the direction. That's not counting ongoing legislative attempts by some leading states to...

I agree in general with what has been said. I have already expressed myself on cryptography and I will not repeat what I have already said. Regarding donations, I underlined how the recent economic situation may have damaged the financing of the project, but I understand the bitterness of those who have made donations. I also seem to have noticed a nuisance on some requests, especially the abandonment of older versions of Windows. There was a lot of resistance from users, yet it was pointed out that...

Masses have changed over time. Once upon a time there were relatively fewer people and with specific background and interests. With smartphones, everyone has arrived. This is why the masses are no longer interested. At most, the quick and easy solution is sought, even a poor one. There are interested people and they are (at least) the same as before, maybe more. They feel less because the "masses" have changed. So it's technically true as a percentage... This keeping in mind all the cloud evolution...

For you the point seems to be a progressive disinterest in encryption. Instead, it seems to me that the interest, a little superficial this yes but people are made like this, has moved to the cloud and communication on the one hand and on fast and ready solutions with companies behind them (BitLocker, FileValut2, Luks), on the other side. They are points of view, I remain of my idea. Others may think differently of course.

This is because with the spread of broadband connections, attention has increasingly shifted towards communication and not on data on the local PC. Encrypted messaging apps have appeared that once weren't there. In the same way encrypted cloud storage services (real or not) have spread. It's all moved to connection and communication, but the interest has not decreased, in fact it has increased. Veracrypt has only one active person and you can't compare me updates to software with companies and many...

I think the interest in cryptography from people with certain interests and skills has remained the same and maybe even increased. This is because mass espionage practices by governments have become public knowledge, see cases of Snowden, Assange and similar. One has the perception that the number has decreased simply because the number of people who have access to the internet thanks to smartphones has increased. They are often young people with superficial interests. The number has not decreased,...
