Is there anyone at VeraCrypt monitoring this forum? I installed a fully legit version (most recent) on a fully legit Ubuntu and I read the documentation on how to decrypt and the version of VeraCrypt I have does not have that function... At least someone must know if I am using the wrong version of VeraCrypt, or if it's because of my Ubuntu version, or maybe I am not starting VeraCrypt the correct way... Anyone?
Like if some smartass invisible force wanted to piss me off, the print screen button gets deactivated whenever I open a menu or right-click menu in the VeraCrypt window, so I can't even take a screenshot of the menus I see on my screen. I will enumerate them instead. Also, for anyone who may understand why I get this behavior, I am logging with an administrator account, I am on Ubuntu Desktop 20.04.1 LTS and I am using VeraCrypt 1.24-Update7. I must be missing something then... I there such a thing similar to "run as administrator" in Linux which would hide some of the functions if I don't use it?
Hello, I have always used the Windows GUI to encrypt/decrypt/mount my volumes easily for years. Now, I just moved encrypted volumes to a Ubuntu OS and installed VeraCrypt. In the VeraCrypt GUI, there is absolutely no option to decrypt my volumes. I can mount them no problem. There are options to change passwords, create / add / remove keyfiles as well as other options... But absolutely no way to decrypt the volumes. And by the way, I want to decrypt them in place. Moving the files to an unencrypted...
Hello, I am on VeraCrypt 1.22 64-bit (March 30, 2018). I did not have any problem with the previous Windows updates, but now I can't upgrade to 1903 (released May 2019). I read the previous posts, but there is a lot of relatively old information and I am not a programmer, so I just wanted to make sure to do the correct thing. Per my understanding, please correct me if I am wrong, upgrading VeraCrypt to the latest will correct the problem. But I see there are beta versions too... So, 2 questions:...
Alright thanks... I'll just try to remember to dismount all drives before exiting Windows. This was not happening in Windows 10, it's just since I rebuilt the computer with Windows 7. Thanks for help!
Hi, I did like said above. Most were already checked except "entering power saving mode", which I checked. After reboot, I got the same error message. I also tried to uncheck "Allow only administrators to view and dismount system favorite volumes in VeraCrypt" in the "Organize system favorite volumes" window, but I still have the same message after reboot. Any other ideas?
