Sam Tansy I'm familiar with the registry content, from my perspective it just changes from Lang="-" to Lang="ru" for no reason. you must find exact reason of problem Yep, seems like it. So look Region / Administative / Language for non-Unicode programs: and Region / Formats / Format: in control panel. Much appreciate for the info. I've ended up just with removing "Lang" folder from the install dir. No additional languages - problem solved (I hope). Thanks everyone for the help.

did you delete registry values by some reason It could be a reason, sure. Not that I directly mess with 7-Zip registry values. I don't use any 'cleaners' or 'registry optimizers'. I agree it can be done with any [even malicious] software and it's not necessary a direct 7-Zip issue. 7-Zip switched to default "Russian" Based on what exactly it thinks that Russian should be the default language for my installation? If you as the developer could just elaborate on this, I would stop wasting your time...

Different installations means different Windows on different laptops. I understand. Can 7-Zip be set up in the way so nothing can influence it's language settings except direct change via settings/registry? I mean I don't want 7-Zip to suggest the UI language based on anything, I want the language I set.

One of the input languages is Russian (no language packs installed though), that's all. Such reset happens on different installations, none has Russian in Regional Settings and/or Interface Language. I wonder could some third-party software cause this? None of installed software uses Russian as UI language though... As I've mentioned, I change language in 7zFM and it stays for some time. I don't use 7-Zip often, so let's say, in 2 weeks I want to extract an archive. I open context menu and find out...

I face sporadically language settings' reset in 7-Zip. Somehow it often becomes Russian although Russian isn't my regional settings language nor Windows UI language. I can't say for sure what causes it, because when I test it (set, set as administrator, reboot etc) it stays English, but when I run 7-Zip some time later - I face Russian UI language again. Please help me fix this, so the language I chose stays there perpetually.
