I would like to share with you my experience on Behringer UMC22. Me and my bandmates have been jamming with Jamulus for many months now and I had experimented with many issues from latency to OS, interfaces, drivers compatibility etc and have finally stablized all the variables that affected us at the beginning. So I do get some reasonable understanding on making Jamulus to work. One of my bandmate is using the UMC22. When I started installing him with the ASIO4ALL driver as specified by Behringer,...
Hi Erich, By no means that I am an expert in coding and computer systems but I have been enjoying Jamulus for several months now and have been quite successful in running it on Windows 7, Windows 10 and Ubuntu. I even have the newer version 3.6.0 running on a Windows 7 machine. If you have trouble in installing then it must be something in your OS that is causing you problem. May be the firewall and your virus protection software that is running behind the scene. Try disable them before installation....
Thank you Laurent, following your instructions, I get it working perfectly now.
Hi Laurent, The updated client version is 3.6.0. I also discovered that the "Stop Jamulus Server" icon also disappeared from the desktop. I don't even know how to stop the server now after I launched it using "Start Jamulus Service " icon. Your attention is very much appreciated. P.
Hi Laurent, I have been using your Jamulus OS installed onto the hard drive and with no problem in running the GUI version of client and server. This Ubuntu version definitely improves the latency in comparison to running Jamulus in Windows. Thanks for making this available especially for someone with no experience on Linux. Today, I used your "Update Jamulus" short cut and updated to version 3.6.0. No error in the updating process and Jamulus client runs. However trying to run the Server by clicking...
I would like to report back results of my tests. Uninstalling ASIO4ALL from Windows and leaving just the Behringer drivers in Jamulus does not seem to improve the delay in any significant way. It appears to shave off 1-2 ms but I cannot be certain that it is not just a random effect from the auto jitter. Tested Jamulus OS as suggested by Gilgongo. With the server running on Windows 10 and a client running Jamulus OS, the delay number reduced quite a bit down from 40ms to 30ms. Independently serving...
No harm done by asking and for sure could prevent the obvious. I do have selected the proper driver in the Settings device drop box. I think I follow all the logical steps and I wonder if ASIO4ALL is silently interfering behind the scene. I am going to remove ASIO4ALL from the system and see if any change could occur. Will report back.
But on my Windows 10 computers, I had the original Behringer and Focusrite drivers installed with no improvement better than 40ms.
