I've been using Clonezilla in Debian for several years and am very happy with it. I do bare-metal backups (clone disk). It would be nice to have some script or way to automate the process so I don't have to "answer all the questions" CL asks or select the options for the clone process. Does anyone have a script for doing an unattended bare metal backup? Thanks
Ah ha! Thanks.
I'm trying to clone 1 external usb ssd to a second external usb ssd. They are both connected to sata adapters. The problem is when it comes to Identify Source Drive, which shows both drives, I can't figure out which one is the real source drive as the adapter name and drive size only appear and that's identical for both drives. I can't remember but maybe there's an SDB and SDC. Regardless, I have no idea which one's the source. Any ideas? Thanks
Figured out how to do it; Start clonezilla in usual way (I'm using a usb stick for a CL live version) device-device work directly from a disk Perform usual steps up to----then chose EXPERT disk to local disk......disk clone Select Source- Source drive Select Destination- Destination drive Menu- Clonezila on-the-fly advanced extra parameters Check off first 5 options Check off -icds Next menu- Use the Partition Table from the source disk Remaining steps are the shut down option and then WARNING messages....
Source disk is 256gb (ssd) Target disk is 250gb (ssd) I'm trying to clone the Source disk to the the Target disk but the error message of Target Disk is Too Small is presented and CL shuts down. I've read various complicated solutions but am quite confused on how to solve this. No, I don't want to purchase additional disks to match the size of the Source disk. All I'm trying to accomplish is get a fully functional disk copy so that in the event of a crash I can simply swap disks and be operational...
I want to replace the HDD in my HP "All-in-one" computer with a SSD (same size- 1TB) Successfully can Clonezilla do it without having Window's license key or whatever it's called? Thanks
Well, solved it similarly- downloaded Clonezilla 20210127 groovy amd64 Booted up and runs fine. Just did the weekly disk clone which Clonezilla did perfectly, as always. Thank you for a very useful program!
I've had a similar problem on my notebook, but I have a new computer- Dell Optiplex 330 (amd64 bit) and am booting Clonezilla from an external USB CD drive. (new computer....new problems!) I suspect the problem has something to do with the Clonezilla cd version I downloaded and burned. The version is 2.7.1-22-amd64 I can't get Clonezilla Live to go beyond the initial screen that appears Any ideas how to solve this problem? Thank you, Craig
