Sorted. opened original encrypted drive, copied all enclosed files directly to my mounted VeraCrypt formatted pen drive.

I have a laptop that is being replaced. On it I have an encrypted drive. I wish to transfer this (or the data within it) to an encrypted pen drive as the new laptop has a smaller SSD, not my choice. Do I need to decrypt the encrypted files to copy them, or will I be able just to copy or move them to the pen drive. Thank you

I have just re checked following @M.P post above and yes, something has changed as it will eventually open the Explorer window and selecting the encrypted file, will now open. The message showing that VeraCrypt is (Not Responding) no longer appears. Windows version is now 22622.586 It is slow, but probably no slower that the workaround above.

I have the same problem today. I opend a device without a problem and then went to select a file and everything froze. I searched here found @Gary Marks solution and this now works for me as well. Edited to add this only works for an encrypted folder. I have an encrypted pen drive and the option to send to isnt available, BUT I discovered that once VeraCrypt is open I can decrypt the pen drive by using the 'Volume' tab and selecting 'Select Device' from there. It is the button that causes the software...
