    The same thing happened to me, even though my XML was already in AppData. I looked into Dominik's XML and actually only found the line with PreferUserConfiguration that sets it to true. So I changed this value in my XML with a text editor and everything looked fine (apparently): <Meta> <PreferUserConfiguration>true</PreferUserConfiguration> </Meta> But because I haven't read Dominiks comment carefully enough it worked on my machines exactly once: at first it looked OK after opening Keepass and close...
