Hi Dave, Reporting back. I now have the Defender definitions version 1.313.1411.0 installled, and after a reboot (just in case!!) Windows 10 still detects the virus and prevents installation. So no cigar. You mentioned you have lost of users and no reports of problems. That's probably not surprising, since the way the software is used installs the changes to the WIndows boot loader and sets up GRUB. After that has been done, the user wouldn't know there was a problem created by Defender removing...

I have the same malware detection on 2 separate Windows 10 machines. Windows Defender prevents installation of Grub2Win. It may be a false positive, but it is preventing any use of the program. On one machine, I had Windows Defender disabled, and the installation went as expected. then enabled Windows Defender and the Grub2Win executable was removed.
