Thanks for the reply, I think if I were going to spin the drives down I would use timeout command for a delay so this is good info! As of now, keeping the drives spinning and saving data access speed works better for my work flow. Also after reading your reply I decided to add a status line to my bat file: snapraid.exe status -l status-%%D-%%T-log.txt I really like having daily log files that I can open up to check on things.

Ok, this other thread has an explaination for the PING 127.0.0.1, I'm still slightly fuzzy on what is going on though: https://sourceforge.net/p/snapraid/discussion/1677233/thread/c1ab9f9e/#3fe3 Update: I started using the following lines in a .BAT file everyday. It seems to work ok, I would think if there was a disk failure sync/scrub wouldn't work. cd C:\Snapraid snapraid.exe sync -l sync-%%D-%%T-log.txt snapraid.exe pool -l pool-%%D-%%T-log.txt snapraid.exe -p 5 scrub -l scrub-%%D-%%T-log.txt...

I'm interested in something like this but I would also like to run scrub and pool. What does the "PING 127.0.0.1 -n 11" do in the second BAT file?

I had issues with this and resolved them, see details: For some reason windows has given a few of my files TEMP attributes (AT) and I'm having trouble removing the attribute. SR won't sync them unless I fix the issue. First I tried the attrib command directed at a single file a couple ways but that didn't work. Then I tried the powershell command directed at a file that worked. However, I had to change my filename to remove a space. My file was named "MP3 Player" and I had to change the name to "MP3Player"....

I removed "-recurse" because I didn't want it...
