Hi Volker, I gave up with my iMac and instead have created a London hosted Virtual Private Server on which I've successfully run Jamulus server using https://sourceforge.net/p/llcon/discussion/533517/thread/82a9b5316e/ in private mode. I thought I saw a post from you the other day saying that you could see that your server was holding up despite the amount of traffic. I've a couple of friends who are trying to teach music remotely so was thinking of setting up several private instances on my VPS...

I had turned it off. It's now running again. I've tried every variant I can think of. Is it the Mac f/w that's preventing something from running? Volker - I really appreciate your answering all these questions - must be very tiresome for you! Another contributor suggested just using an existing service. My motivation is to make it easier for my and my friends as most servers are running with several players. If you have the time, I'd like to understand how running in public mode avoids the need for...

I've started my server as follows: ./Jamulus -s -e "jamulus.fischvolk.de" -o "Nigel;Winchester;224" -w "Thanks for connecting" - server mode chosen - central server: jamulus.fischvolk.de - server info: Nigel;Winchester;224 - welcome message: Thanks for connecting Can anyone see 'Nigel'? I can't see 'Warrier Cooltrane' maybe you stopped it? I don't have port forwarding. I've tried it with port forwarding in private mode but can't event telnet to my IP address My firewall on the mac rejecting it?

Jeff, have you now got a private session running? I can't seem to get anyone to see my server - either in public or private mode. If you're runnning in private mode, how does your buddy connect to you? Is it by typing your public IP address - with port forwarding on to the mac you're running Jamulus server on? Or have you done something else clever that I've not picked up is required?

Thanks Gilgongo. In answer to your last question. I'm just trying to get somthing to work. I noticed that the latency of the default server is over 30ms so was going to try using my own. I'll try some more fiddling.

I'm also having some challenges. First trying to get the network side working properly. I can launch the client and the server but am confused as to whether to run my own private server or connect to a central server. I feel like I'm trying random things - with limited success. I've created a diagram (https://www.lucidchart.com/invitations/accept/1c04f35d-84ba-4159-8637-1c997d036194) that shows what I hope will be my setup for a private server. In this set up: - There are two players - Player one...
