Oh, user botowrap got it working for me. Had to go to Configuration --> Memory and click on the "Pre-configured 1" button. Interesting.

Ah, I got it working now. It's only with the 6569-R1 (PAL-B) VIC-II model where the scrolling text doesn't work. Probably the issue with that particular VIC-II model and not Denise itself. If that's the case, then never mind. :)
