I got that ( http://www.swordofmoonlight.net/holy/COLLADA-RT-demo2.png ) image mostly straightened out to be identical to the one in the COLLADA book. The plants in the back are different, and so is the windshield. I think those things were tweaked after the demo.dae sample was saved. (They look like elements that could use more work in the run up to a technology conference presentation. EDITED: Another possibility is the plants move when animated. Their shaders is called "superwiggle.") I don't...

Here is a recreation of the plate in the Sailing The Gulf COLLADA book. I took the picture at full screen resolution and down sampled it. [REDACTED--There was some text here, but it was spurious and not worth reading.] Here's the first render that was done with Cg. I'd expect the ground of the planet in the first image to have a specular highlight that matches this one, but it doesn't appear to. The first render worked fine. But there was a problem with vp30 and fp30 targets on my system. This (...

(They look like elements that could use more work in the run up to a technology conference presentation.) I don't think the "tangent-vectors" are used by the fragment/pixel-shaders. While I was trying to understand...

Here is a recreation of the plate in the Sailing The Gulf COLLADA book. I took the picture at full screen resolution and down sampled it. The black parts seem to want tangent-vectors to be generated. (They are not in the DAE file.) I'm very reticent to do that. The CTS (Conformance Test Suite) tests also have files that require lighting normals to pass the test but do not contain normals in their files! Anyway, I will update the file at the URL if I write code for generating these things. If there...

Here are some basic textured images from a few days ago. I seem to be having difficulty deciding where to go next with this work. But I did get a few things done since. I added glLightModeli(GL_LIGHT_MODEL_COLOR_CONTROL,GL_SEPARATE_SPECULAR_COLOR); after enabling textures. As I kind of expected, the specular component could not contribute to textures. Not in any meaningful way. I also set the parameters for the duck (making a new file) using the figures from here ( http://devernay.free.fr/cours/opengl/materials.html...

On Windows the icons are usually built-into the excutable. Maybe hard to do with a makefile. But not Visual Studio.
