If accepting decimals is difficult, at the very least the displayed available space should be shown in the selected units - i.e. if you switch to inputting GB, show maximum space in GB, so you can figure out the "acceptable" (integer-only) value that you can input. There's a similar issue when trying to create a hidden volume. For the outer volume, it selects the full size available. Then you put files on the outer volume, and it creates the inner volume. When creating the inner volume, it tells you the maximum possible size, but it requires you to type the size you want to use. i.e. it says "4.55 TiB available", but...it won't let you type 4.55. It complains if you type anything other than "4". Super unclear & poor UX.

I had an existing, encrypted data-only partition. I needed to shrink slightly (to make room for a different partition), so I decrypted it in-place, then resized it. Now I'm trying to re-encrypt it in-place. Whenever I try, Veracrypt says "cannot shrink the filesystem" (to make space for the volume header). The first suggestion it gives is to make sure there's enough free space. There's more than 150 gigs free. The second suggestion it gives is to run scandisk. Scandisk reports no errors. Thanks for responding. In that case, you're probably right that it's related t an out-of-date .NET; I've had difficulties with this machine missing Windows updates. Just a thought: Might be handy to put a short blurb about that in the error message if cert validation fails, so people will know that it's a .NET issue rather than an addon issue. Then they won't bug you on the forums here, and will know where to look. Just my 2c. Thanks again!
