Thanks for the explanation. FP23 worked so well, I never even checked the site for a while. When I did, FP25 was already available and FP26 arrived less than 2 weeks later. No reason for the 'create data for channels with the same name'. I can disable it.
I had never used the -j parameter in the past and everything worked well with FP23. I added it to my batch file now so I'll check tomorrow. I also uploaded my ini file.
I have noticed that FP26 seems to have broken many series record within WMC. Many TV series and Sports no longer give me an option to Series Record. I noticed it on Sunday when trying to recreate the Series record for Last Week Tonight. I could record individual episodes but not a series. I included Monday's xmltv and mxf files. Search for Indycar and Last Week. On Indycar, one entry shows up as IsSeries=1 on the other it doesn't. Last Week Tonight exhibits the same. I also tested various other entries...
I imagine some of the new changes weren't compatible with the old config. I was prepared to recreate the series but the WMC database became confused. My previous WMC database was created with FP 20. From a troubleshooting standpoint, you may run into a few more of these in the next week or so.
OK, I wiped my database and went back to square one. WMC now correctly schedules only one instance. Thanks for the help!
Not sure about the MXF. In the xml, 'The Spite Store' is listed 4 times. The 22 (original air date), the 23, the 24 and the 26. If you see the screen cap I included in the first post, WMC had all 4 instances queued up to record. I created this WMC config in January. I will try a fresh database to see if Westworld gets corrected. Curb won't have any new episodes for a while and most non-HBO channels rarely repeat new episodes within the same week.
When I configured Curb Your Enthusiasm to record the series, it scheduled every episode of "The Spite Store" (s10e10). It didn't schedule any old episodes. "The Spite Store" is the only New episode. The same thing happened with Westworld. Something on how New episodes are handled seems off.
I deleted both series and restarted my PC. I rescheduled the series and the same issue appeared. WMC scheduled every airing of the 'new' episode. I did notice something odd. When searching for Curb or Westworld, they had double entries in the WMC database. Perhaps it is due to the changes from the new Fixpack. I'm considering backing up my current config and starting from a clean database.
I included my INI in the original zip file. I believe I have all the recommended settings in there but you're welcome to double check. I did try cancelling a series (Curb) and recreating it. That was when I took the screenshot from my original post. I will try again tomorrow with Westworld.
Certainly. Curb Your Enthusiasm or Westworld are 2 examples. Ahhh, thanks for the explanation on why the MXF is now smaller.
Actually, I read the FP 23 release notes and was prepared to recreate my schedule. Surprisingly, I didn't have to. I also tried deleting the Curb series and recreating it with the same result. I have zipped up my xml, mxf, log and ini file. I don't have many channels so it compressed nicely. One thing I just noticed is my mxf is smaller than my xml. IIRC they used to be about the same size.
I was very excited to try FP 23. Most things work great. One issue I have run into is recording New episodes from HBO and similar channels that repeat airings multiple times. Despite settings Series Repeats to 'Use broadcaster references' and supplying a Zap2it xml, WMC has flagged every airing of the new episode. In the past WMC would only record the first airing unless a scheduled recording failed. The only workaround is instead of using Anytime, you choose an approximate airing time.
That is great to read. I look forward to the next release. Thanks!
Is it posssible to implement the Live tag under ScheduleEntry for zap2it imports? I notice MS has 2 definitions "isLive" and "isLiveSports". The reason for this request is I noticed that with Formula 1 starting up soon, WMC had scheduled 2 events each day; the live event and the rebroacast. In my TZ both are on the same day and WMC has queued both to record. My series record was set to a specific channel and new only. The Live option did not work. I currently use zap2xml with the -L option. This...
That worked perfectly. Thank you so much. I can't believe how well this program works.
Did I misunderstand? Is the text to replace a backward slash followed by the character ampersand and the word quot. Yes, and a semi-colon. \" I'm not sure if zap2xml or zap2it are creating that character. The other option may be to interpret both as quotes. zap2it xmls seem to alternate between both versions within the same file.
Hello Steve. Unfortunately, the replace text function is not working. Perhaps EPGC sees the text I am replacing as special characters? Even to generate the original post in this forum I had to specify the text as code or only a " or \" would appear. I also configured the replacement mode as 'specified text only'. Perhaps a different replacement mode? [EDITSPECS] EditSpec=\",",False,True,Anywhere,Text
Damn, that was fast! Thank you!
Everything has been working very well. I have even tweaked the categories because zap2it doesn't always tag sports correctly. I have one question re: quotes in descriptions. Sometime zap2xml grabs quotes in the following format \" instead of " This has the side-effect of putting a backslash infront of any quote in WMC. I notice there is a section in EPG Centre called Edit. Can I configure it to replace\" with"? Is that what this function is for? In case anyone is interested, some...

Thank you!!! I tried a few custom callsigns and left the rest at default. I can now add custom logos. This works perfectly! On an unrelated note, is there an up to date Wiki for the extra Output and Import options (Series and Repeats, Disable In-band Guide Loader, etc...)? I'm not really sure of any extra options I should be adding.
That sounds great. Much appreciated. One question, would it be possible to repurpose the Import tab rename section or does that only handle the channel names? Ideally it would be nice to have channel names and callsigns. It is only cosmetic but it would be nice. I included a screenshot of TV Mosaic which grabs the callsigns during the scan. WMC grabs them too but once the external EPG is imported and mapped, they get replaced.
My WMC config uses 2 sources. Since I was previously using DVBLink 4.6 to populate my guide and it only supported 1 xmltv file, I created a merged file using zap2xml. The channels with subnumbers are ATSC (or antenna channels if you prefer). The channel numbers 700 and higher are Satellite channels provided by DVBLink to WMC. It would be nice to have custom callsigns but a simple duplication of the channel name in the callsign section of services would differentiate the channels and allow for channel...
I uploaded the files. I configured this as a 'clean' install. I scanned my available OTAchannels and DVBLink supplied the 16 or so Satellite channels. Since MS discontinued the guide, I imagine callsigns aren't included?
First off, thank you for the excellent work you have done with this program and your continued support! Until today, I was using DVBLink to import my xmltv data into my EPG. While it worked well, the updates were very slow and sometimes a day or so behind. I had used your app in the past to experiment grabbing my EPG from my satellite source but I never realized it could use an XML file as its source. The MXF data is excellent and the updates are just like WMC used to be. My only issue is the lack...
