In the past I've seen maps that use a small black dot for a light pole, but I see no corresponding symbol in the sprint symbol set. I see a circle and an x used for prominent man-made features. Are they supposed to be used in different circumstances? What should I use for a gate that is not attached to a fence?

I think I'm using ann older Sprint symbol set, but I'm willing to change if that makes a difference. I've attached the map I'm working on. What symbol set do I need to use in order to be able to merge areas with roads?

I used the paved area symbol to make a parking lot. Is there any way to merge is with a road so that a line does not show up between the two. If not, how is this normally handled? See attached.
