I'm very happy to hear my step-by-step guide seems to be useful to someone! Thanks for the mention :-) Regarding your issues, that's a good-to-know for me, too, as I am still on Keepass 2.53.1 (and happy, no such issues for me). So I'll wait a while before upgrading to current, hoping everything will be fixed by then by Dominik Reichl. Cheers Max

no clue, sorry. seems you did what I would have tried. I take you followed my tutorial for upgrading to current keepass directly after installing keepass via sudo apt-get install keepass2? Here it is: https://sourceforge.net/p/keepass/discussion/329220/thread/17d1bd26/?page=6&limit=25#dece/2b13 I believe someone here confirmed that it works on Ubuntu 20.04 (but not on 22.04 I think) if that doesnt help, my only idea is it has something to do with your version of mono, maybe your version is "too new"...

Follow my tutorial in an older post from me here a year ago, there you go: https://sourceforge.net/p/keepass/discussion/329220/thread/17d1bd26/?page=4#9eeb (Same as referenced by wellread1 here below in his last link) Worked for me (on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus, updated to Keepass2 Version 2.48 which I'm still using), should be more or less fool-proof, did my best to make it very complete.. Should be done in less than 10 Minutes if nothing goes wrong. I, too, get some weird behaviour , by the way...

My How-To was strictly for updating an (very) old Keepass-Installation (what you will have if you are still using an old Version of Ubuntu like Ubuntu 16.04 from 2016 for example, like me), not for installing (a possibly outdated version of) Keepass in the first place. For doing that (before maybe updating it (e.g. following my How-To), in case you get a too old version of Keepass), just execute the command sudo apt install keepass2 in a terminal window (press Ctrl + Alt + T for that), as @dlech27...
