This solution still works in 2022. Thanks

No matter what tools, such as bogs, docs, or other nifty tools I try, I keep coming back to mind-mapping for my unstructured data, and Freeplane specifically, because of it's ease, speed, and support, both in the forums, and across platforms. Amazing product. I would have never gotten my projects where they are without it. Lots of Love Rigel.

I have a suggestion to make freeplane work better in both directions. I would simply like to parent the root node. I can understand why this doesn't currently work, because you can have children on both sides. The way I'd see the feature working is that, everything on the left side is simply dumped on top of the content on the right side, and a new root node would be created as the parent of the original root node. In this way, you don't have to manually create a new node at the top on the right...

I've moved this to the bug tracker Something might be going wrong, but this might be by design. I'm not sure. Any time I try to createa multi-line node, the alpha channel on the text completely fails. I tried this 2 ways Creating a multi-line node in the map view editor Creating a multi-line node in the tiny-html editor This is windows 10. running the latest updates to this date, and the lastest java installer that I can find. Can someone else reproduce this? Is there a conflict between the node...

Hey Dimitry. We need a sticky post on how to register for the wiki. I tried, and I can't find anywhere to actually register. I get a login page, but nothing that lets me createa new account on the wiki. If this isn't possible at the current time, then that should also be noted on the wiki, and the wiki updated accordingly to hide the previous text, until it becomes possible again. Thanks, Rigel

I use freeplane primarily for project management. I can even integrate a mini blog into each mind-map by simply adding a node with a date, then I use the filters to find those nodes quickly and review that entry. I know of mindmeister, mindjet, and freemind (off of which freeplane is based) Freeplane has an excellent UI, and bar none the best way for me to search a map, and then save those searches. Some of the other software looks nicer, but I don't want that. What I want is fast, efficient data...

I can't express how much freemind, and now freeplane have enabled me to achieve my goals. I think in an un-structured relational way. Freeplane lets me give those relationships structure, so that I can do things with them. This software is absolutely essential in my daily professional and personal life. I think I'm indebted to the project. BTW: How do I donate? Regards, Rigel
