Great advice and much appreciated! Thank you.
Any takers for this query anyone? Is it safe for me to install a Windows 10 feature up with system disk encryption? I am using VeraCrypt 1.24-update2. Or is decryption beforehand still advised? Thanks all
I've been enjoing the reassurance of system disk encryption on Windows home for a couple of months now. All good but I haven't been able to find a straightforward answer to this question: Is it safe for me to install a Windows 10 feature up with system disk encryption? I am using VeraCrypt 1.24-update2. Many thanks M
Many thanks for the reply. I've been taking that Macrium route as well (booting off the rescue disk) but can't remember if I used exact copy and so will create a new back up shortly. I've been thinking about using Clonezilla as well and might give that a try. Anyway, you've confirmed what I thought was the right way to go but the VC documentation suggested otherwise.
Having read through the "How to Back Up Securely" documentation, I have finally found a way of following that procedure using the file browser in Hiren's Boot CD PE to run a portable version of Veracrypt. I can now back the system disk after mounting without pre-boot authentication. Is this any different from booting up into Windows and using Macrium Reflect (or similar) to create a system image? And what are the implications for restoring the system? Many thanks

It would be great to have an answer to this question, something simple to set up and use.
