My apologies in advance for the long-winded message that follows. I'm trying to give enough information to explain the situation, but I hope not too much info. I've succeeded in starting multiple Jamulus services on a Linux box, each with different port numbers. The users are used to specifying a hostname and port number to connect to, so that's OK. I'm trying to add a central server to the picture so they don't need to use port numbers. The process that runs as the central server comes up and acts...

I have additional questions about running central servers: By default, if no port number is specified when starting a central server, does it run on port 22124, or is the central server information served from a different port? In the client, can the address for the central server include a port number, like "host.example.org:22222"? Also in the client, if no port number is specified for the central server, does it connect to port 22124 by default?

Hi, Gilgongo. Thanks for the speedy response. I appreciate the simple solution. I still wish a single server process could handle multiple studio "rooms" on various port numbers, though.

I work for the University of Michigan and we'd like to set up five Jamulus servers for students in our School of Music, Theater, and Dance to use for practice. We have a Linux box to run it on and we would like to make servers available at ports 22125–22129. I have some questions about this setup: Do I need to run the server program once for each port that will be a server? Is there a way to specify multiple ports in the command line options or configuration file? Could we (and should we) run our...
