OK. I have the portable demo running now too. Thanks.
YOU ARE A GENIUS!!! I deleted that entry, which said "slow" after it, and moved the other entry to the top for good measure. You'll see in the picture that I added another entry for a folder that happened to have a space in it. I tried at first to encompass it in quotes but that did not work so I went to Microsoft Bing chat and asked it for help and it told me that it needed the escape character and the s. I did a paste of the path and in the browser it created the proper regexp in the picture. I...
Yes. You are correct. I just fixed it and it's STILL indexing the AppData folder. I tried with both, which should have worked, and just like yours. Nothing works.

Ok, Here are some screenshots that will show you what's going on. I have my index exclude set up exactly the same as yours, only it clearly is not working. It's not only still indexing that location, it is flooded with errors. I'm running windows 11 and you are running 10 My files are on c: and is a HIDDEN directory. It still finds it. I have a Windows Ten machine so I may install on there and see if it works. If it does perhaps it's related to Windows Eleven. What should I try next?
THANK YOU!! Your suggestion worked. I completely removed the software and Java then rebooted then installed the new Java prior to reinstalling the software and it correctly skipped the installation of the outdated software so the program is working on the new version of Java. Do you know if this project is under development still by anybody? If the bundled software is nine years old that's not good. That means nobody's recompiled the software with an updated version of Java in almost a decade. T...
All, I first installed this software last night and version 1.8 of Java was installed by the installer file and about an hour later the Java running in the system tray told me an update was available and the updated version was not 2.0 it was actually version 8! Anyway, the upgrade removed the older out of date version of Java and when that happened it killed DocFetcher. The software simply wouldn't run anymore until I uninstalled the new version of Java and reinstalled the old version of Java that...
