I know i am almost 2 months late, but in the case the disk is still in your hands: What i would do a disk what has similar problems, and i do not care about the data, to get a program, like the HardDiskSentinel, or something similar, what overwrites a sector and reads back the result for "readability quality", let it ran through (at least one overwrite, to hide the previous life). + can force HDD-internal deep-scans Sometimes an "OS-less" check on a drive can force it, to self heal, meaning it starts...

I need 2 OSs (windowns-windows) for 2 users on the same machine, both encrypted. Since -as i saw in this forum too- there is no real way to have it with VC, withount two users knowing one password, or with bitlocker, i ended up in a solution when the hidden OS is utilized by veracrypt I know it made for other reasons, but solves my problem too. The Plausible Deniability does not matter now. My current logical block is the unknown fact: Can we adjust the location of the outer volume after it was set...

... i have similar issue, just mail-subbing. I do not know if it related, but when i cloned a drive, it had everithing cloned including the disk IDs. I had to use the USB bootlable little companion software of the macrium reflect to regenerate the disc's id to be able to recognisable by the software-part-of-the system as a whole as other disk. (and there were some other settings >> i mean there are accessable, just logic based layers, so do not give up) It does not involved NVMe-s, or maybe not even...

Ohh, that is not good, i mean, your result... Do you need to use your VC-password when loading the unecrypted windows? Any ways, thanks for the reply! (First since i am registered) I might will check out the dual EFI possibilities. Thanks for that idea!

Hi! I would like to use 2 windows based OS, on the same system, while both is seperately encrypted, while sifting between them does not require going into the UEFI/BIOS. I would like to have a Main OS, and a Sub OS. The SUB would be a "set to be offline, one app is needed, no internet access" os. The Main would be, a normally used one. The main goal to have the SUB encrypted, is just to create a seal on the "open disk area" of it, so it is sealed : nothing can read from it, or write to it. Nothing...
