If I try launching Apophysis AV 1.0.2 it says the file "ApophysisAV_64.rand" is missing. I coiped the one from the older version of Apophysis and renamed it and it now launches OK apart from complaining about the missing plugins. If I ignore the missing .rand file dialog and launch then it doesn't load any of the flames on the left. If I try to do anything it complains that it can't save the .rand file. I tried it on an older PC running Windows 10 and I get the exact same thing. I will play around...
I tried a new download and made sure it wasn't blocked before unzipping. I did the same as you and extracted it to the Program Files folder and named it Apophysis AV. Same problems with it not finding the plugins or the ApophysisAV_64.rand file. I ended up taking the .rand file from an old version of Apophysis 7 and renaming it. That fixed the .rand issue and after dismissing the error dialogs, it does at least now run. Thanks for the help.
Thanks for that info. I am wondering if the problem I am having is with the download. Thinking about it, I have had a problem in the past where a file didn't extract all of the files because of some flag on the downloaded file. I need to try and find out what that was again and try again. Fingers crossed that is it.
Thanks for responding. Can I ask you where you have the files on your machine, and if the version you are using is Apophysis AV 1.0.2?
Hi, I just bought a new PC and am trying to get Apophysis AV to work on it. When I first launch it I get a long list of missing plugins (check64.dll etc) and it can't find the .rand file either to generate the random images. I also get a repeating error about an Access violation both before the splash screen and after. I have tried all three versions of the program. Am I doing something wrong, is there something missing from the download, or does it just not work under Windows 11? Do I need to place...
