It's not what I envisioned with my GUI, but congrats on actually getting it implemented. Just like 99% of all my other projects, my 7z GUI failed at the implementation step due to life getting in the way because it is a little more than a weekend project for me…

I am currently in the background working on a GUI called L7z, which aims to re-implement 7zFM on Linux (while using the official Linux version of 7-Zip as its backend). But I am not sure when I'll get around to actually finishing it, as school is quite stressful right now and I am more into web tech right now, so progress on L7z is slow. As a stop-gap solution you could also just install the Window$ version of 7-Zip inside WINE and use the official 7zFM. But of course I hope I can get L7z done not...

I also have school and much personal stuff going on, so it'd be great if I got some help implementing it :) I think I'll set up a computer with KDE Neon so I get Qt6 sooner than October. Maybe I could have said "an inherently bad choice" instead, but that's not to the point. Also I usually see overbloated as bad, but Python is just slower because it's parsed instead of compiled and I'd not say it's overbloated.

I have no experience at all with C++ and whatever I'd throw together in C++ would probably be horrible code riddled with bugs. If you don't want to use L7z you don't have to, nobody forces you to. I'll continue writing in Python, even though there is one particular person out there who seems to try to convince me that Python is inherently bad.

That's not an argument I think it is. Because I can program best in a language I know. And not, necessarily python3. If you're using a reasonably up-to-date Linux distro python3 should be preinstalled. If you only have python2 available for your distro you should consider switching to a distro that ships with python3. So it's a GUI frontend to CLI. All the more I don't get what do you need python for it. As stated above, I can best program in Python. And because the GUI doesn't need super-fast performance...
