Hi James, Frederic shared it in an other thread, you need to download the Google Drive document: Frédéric Aupépin - 1 day ago Hi, For information, I've made some modification that should solve most of the main issue on macOS Catalina, source code is currently available on github here: https://github.com/aupfred/EasyABC/tree/playback-mac-mplay I've build a package which is present currently only on my Drive here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mnXH6DD_PYFSrjyLvFpJ_m0ZA90qgmaG/view?usp=sharing First...

Hi Frédéric, I just downloaded and installed it. Didn't do a full test, but all features that weren't there anymore are now back in working condition! Great Work! And thank you very very much! I there is need for some additional testing don't hesitate to reach out to me (If I can plan it a few days ahead I'm more than willing to do so.) You've really(!!) made my day ;-) Pieter

Hi Seymour That was the message I tried to convey (sorry if it wasn't clear). All libraries/tools/software are in place to have it work. And when executed at the command line it is indeed correct. The PDF generated is the correct score. But for some reason, triggering it from EasyABC does not work. My (totally non python programmer) take on it, is that EasyABC is not capable of triggering the right sequence of instructions to make it work. Hi Jon, Andrew, The issue is confirmed. I did check the configuration and the presence of all relevant dependencies. Everything seems to be there. As you can see in the Terminal Window in the screenshot. But it doesn't seem to work from within EasyABC. KR

Hi seymour, thanks for the suggestion. I've just installed timidity on my Catalina mac and was able to play the tune in the 64bit version of Easyabc. It is not an ideal solution as the playing is no longer linked to the user interface of easyabc, e.g. I can push the stop button but it keeps playing and also the sliders (tempo, position) are not interacting with the playback. But for now (and for me) this is good enough. So thanks a lot. Pieter

Hi, I just installed Catalina in a VM (Parallels) and installed the 64 bitversion available at brsn.org.uk/easyabc. The application starts and I can enter a tune. I do get the following error when trying to play the tune. (see attachment) I checked the cache folder and the file is in there. So apparently it isn't recognized as midi. (this is a vanilla install of both the OS and 64bit easyABC. so maybe I have to install something additional?) Hope this helps. P
