Hi. Short description: An error message appear but doesn't seem to exist an actual error. I'm making a disk image from a brand new Acer Aspire laptop (very first boot after purchased), and the target disk is a 300GB WD3200BEVT sata hdd via a usb-sata adatpter type Plexgear (seemingly without particular product name). Target disk formatted by Xfs - just recently formatted and empty. At line 99 in it says (user input needed to proceed wile running) Failed to mount this device, maybe it is not support...

Sorry for late reply - I just had time this week to test. And yes that works just nice. Thank you very much. I wasn't able to get s.m.a.r.t. data from a ub3 hdd (used to mount /home and storage for disk image files) - but none distros I tested so far was able to get the smart data from the external drive using the "disks" utiliy

Hi. One feature about Clonezilla I appreciate is that in the cloned diskimage folder, it also put HW info for the particular computer. Still, it does not include S.M.A.R.T. data (or so I cannot find at last). Therefore I'd suggest adding smartctl -a for each storage device and dump it into a text file in the disk image folder. Thanks a lot for a very good tool

Hi. Lucky me had backup so I figured I didn't loose all files. After thinking about this for a moment, I figured there must be one of two reasons why this happened. I used terminal and cp command to copy files to Veracrypt volume. May the cp command have failed to finnish disk writing, despite that on terminal output, it gives the impression that all files was copied? After I unmounted the volume (from desktop, right click --> unmount), I rn the command sudo fsck -M /dev/loop8 on the ext2 file system,...

Using Xubuntu 16.04. Yesturday I was copying a new folder into a mounted Veracrypt file container (Encrypted file conainer, vfat, Veracrypt). This file copy operation resulted in one new folder and 15 new files within that folder. It all seems ok, no sign of anything wrong. Today, I mounted the same Veracrypt volume - and I get shocked to see that every files in the new directory was destroyed! That means, all the files is 0 bytes in size, and all files have got equal modified timestamp. Possible...
