I was going to send you the zip file by meesage, but i did not see how to add the zip file as attachment in the message forum.

The newprogram is a 51xxPC utlity version 2.01b copywright Oct 21,2011 The old program is ER 51 pc interface utlity canot find a version it. I included images of the file in each of the porgrams. The old program is on top and new on bottom

I think both programs are specific to my cash register a Samsung ER 5100 cash register. How would I open the programs to look?

My com mode 3 settings for my old computer are: BAUD 9600 PARITY NONE DATA BITS 5 STOP BITS 1 TIME OUT OFF XON/XOFF OFF CTS HAND SHAKING OFF DSR HAND SHAKING OFF DSR SENSITIVITY OFF DTR CIRCUIT OFF RTS CIRCUIT OFF I changed them a couple times and they would reset to the above I put the settings on the new computer in mode com3 command and ran vdos still no luck. I ran the new program on new computer and the com mode 3 seting are as follows: BAUD 9600 PARITY NONE DATA BITS 8 STOP BITS 1 TIME OUT...
