Replying top my own post. I just realized there is already a really good work around for this as long as I don't mind leaving password safe running all the time. I just delete my desktop shortcut and set password safe to start when the system starts and to minimize to the taskbar. Then I can use the hot key setup in options to always pop it up. I can't imagine that password safe really eats up much in the way of resources sitting idle in the background so that is what I am going to do.
I start Password Safe via a hot key set to a desktop shortcut. It works great. Whenever I need a password I hit Ctrl-Alt-Z and up it pops. The problem is that it won't close automatically. It will lock the database after a timeout but when it does this my hot key doesn't work. What I would really like is for it to just close after a timeout if I forgot to close it.
