Thanks Paul. There was not KeePass.config.xml in the program directory. I copied the one from %appdata% to the program directory - but still get the same error message. I do not know if I could influence something that I changed the location of of the data file? Not sure how to reflect that in KeePass other than just opening the data file from the new location. I close KeePass now and then as I don't have the computer running continually.

Hi Paul. Thank you very much. I had tried to rename the config file in the KeePass Password Safe 2- folder. It worked when I did it in the %appdata%-folder.

Have also tried to rename the config.xml-file as described in quite a few cases. No difference. I can see Keepass launching briefly in the task manager and it disappears again with now action at all.

Keepass has stopped reacting. I simply does not react visibly when launched. Have tried updating to newest version 2.57.1. Also have tried to uninstall, restart Windows and reinstall. Also have tried updating VC_redist.x64.exe (Windows component), which I saw mentioned as a possible solution somewher else than here. Can someone help me get it going again. It still works via my Android app.
