I'd like to set up Hesuvi for a friend that has this particular model. He is in another area so the whole thing has to be done through Anydesk or similar, and basically deafly. So I'm trying to minimize any strange results. In case an EQ for this model can't be located, would it make too much of a difference to use another model from the EQ database that's close enough in their numbering? I see a MDR-ZX220BT and a MDR-ZX550BN. I suspect the first of the two is the closest match but... Thanks in advance...
It works for me (latest Win10) without having to run it all the time. It doesn't even have to stay resident in RAM. You set it up and that's all. You use it only when you want to change its settings. Maybe your Windows, or some game you run, resets the audio settings to its own defaults. Could also be that you have to be a user in the admin category of your computer in order for it to install properly.
Just download the full equalizer archive ( https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq/blob/master/results/hesuvi.zip ) It contains an 'eq' folder (containing all supported headphones) and basically you replace with it the existing 'eq' folder under "C:\Program Files\EqualizerAPO\config\HeSuVi". shutdown HeSuVi backup any 'Custom' folder you might have under the existing 'eq' folder ('Custom' could be empty) delete the current 'eq' folder copy the 'eq' folder from the archive you downloaded into the...
I took the risk and installed it. Thankfully, no conflicts with HeSuVi and Hi-Fi Cable. It forced as default a Sonarworks Virtual Audio Device under Playback. No speakers defined in it since I only set up profiles for my headphones. At the same time it unselected the Hi-Fi Cable Input which I promptly enabled again. Now I have two default devices for Playback. Using their Systemwide application, I can enable it or not. While enabled, you can adjust the bass boost, latency and a couple of other things...
I just came across the Sonarworks Reference 4 that has a lot of headphone equalizations included. The eq curves are encoded inside a file with a suffix unknown to me of .swhpsrc (presumably it used to be .swhp in older versions). They refer to studio setups and am not sure if this covers surround. Their web page demo sounds great but in stereo. I'm curious if it would make sense to use their program to assign their eq curve to my headphones (in what they call systemwide mode) and still being able...
My laptop died a few days ago and I'm trying to set up HeSuVi on another one. I have the HRIRs for my headphones in the dead machine but I will not have access to the disks in it for another 10 days. Therefore the request. Movies have to be watched. I mostly use the Sony WH-1000X m3 and I have as backup a Sennheiser HD 280 Pro. I found a .sofa file for the Sennheiser but the latest ffmpeg finds an error in it. Probably mismatched library versions. Thanks in advance.
And now it works. Go figure... Other than restarting Windows I didn't do any changes to audio and a few restarts later, all the 7.1 channels played. By the way, ASIO still shows the number of real output channels (2) and not the virtual ones. All's well that ends well :) Regards.
Are there any setup differences between VB-Cable and HiFi Cable? I replaced VB by HiFi and no matter how many times I restart the system and change parameters, the output is in stereo even though it's defined as 7.1 in HiFi Cable. The ASIO Bridge utility also shows the output as 2 channels. Not sure if it's supposed to show that or some virtual 7.1 instead. ASIO ON or OFF makes no difference. The system is Win 7.1sp1 and the only output device is the stereo headphones. I had no problems with virtual...
