David - My apologies for the delayed response. No, not for export, though I can think how that would be useful. Instead, I would like to open/import either (or all, if possible) STL, OBJ, or XYZ point clouds. Unfortunately, I am no longer a Linux person, so am unaware of good software for that platform. However, I do know that MeshLab works in Linux. If you can imagine something as simple as a coin, I would like to analyze surface profiles for objects in STL/OBJ/PointCloud scans with extent dimensions...

David - I would like to bring up this issue of hopefully getting either STL and/or OBJ file support. 3d scanners are getting down to the 10 micron resolution.
