I'm new to dealing with older games on newer systems (thank you for helping/being patient with me) so I had been using a hacky solution to export the installed files from a Win98 VM to my Steam Deck and had just used those files for the Windows 10 box. Otvdm appears to be a much better solution for what I was doing. I'll grab Daemon Tools for mounting and try installing through otvdm to see if that addresses the Windows issues.
I forgot to mention that the setup on the Steam Deck is SteamOS running DxWnd through GEProton version 7.41.
OK, I set up a fresh 2.05.90 on my Windows 10 PC and grabbed a clean copy of Micro Racers. I mounted the cue using WinCDEmu, and when I try to run it through DxWnd, nothing happens. Had a similar problem before, hence the crack. I've attached the zipped crack files if you want to look at them. On the Steam Deck, whenever I try to use the regular un-cracked files, it just asks me for the Micro Racers disk. Hello, I've been trying to get an old Hot Wheels game running on my Steam Deck through DxWnd 2.05.89. After patching the no-cd exe, the experience has been almost perfect save for one issue. The issue is whenever the background music for the menu and all tracks gets stuck as soon as it starts to play and infinitely repeats the first beat. I've messed around with audio tweaks but none seem to work. I'm certain the game uses some kind of midi for the background music but I haven't figured out exactly...
