It would be wonderful to see a CUSE approach and being able to emulate the full line control handling.

Serial port to network proxy
Is there any way to have this "appear" like an actual serial port on laptops, for example, where there are no such ports? I've been looking around for a long time for something that will actually allow programs that rely on being able to read / write CTS/RTS, DTR/DSR, DCD, etc. but most "emulators" for Linux don't seem to support this "small part" of a "serial port emulator". Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places?
