Dave--thanks much for your suggestions! Well I tried resetting the MS Store cache. Then I logged out of OneDrive. Then I unlinked my OneDrive account from the PC. In all cases, easyABC would blow up if I asked it to do anything involving the Windows Explorer dialogue box. Oh, and I also tried opening .abc files using Notepad, then saving them again, and (of course) that worked just fine. I have been running v1.3.8.7 on a Dell Win11 workstation for about two months with no trouble. Two days ago, completely out of the blue, it began to crash when I tried to save a file. Subsequent experiments determined that this happened any time the Windows Explorer dialogue box was called (viz., to open a new file or save a file with a specific name/location), but not if that box wasn't called (viz., to save an existing file or close an already-open file).
