So, I tried this, and it didn't work? I took the VCC output from the FTDI board and connected it to pin 39, but I got no reply from the Pico. I suspect it may be 3.3V at this output pin, though. I think I'll see if I can get the 5V pin to work instead.

So, ever since I started playing with Mecrisp on my Pico, I've had an USB FTDI board for my serial connection. FTDI Pico RX GP0 TX GP1 CTS GND And then I plugged in a USB cable for power. But now it occurs to me I should be able to connect the VCC from the FTDI board to pin 39, VSYS which can take up to 5.5V safely for power, correct? It would free up an USB port on my computer.

I just discovered this: https://www.tindie.com/products/lilygo/lilygo-t-picoc3-esp32-c3-rp2040-wireless-wifi/ Which is an RP2040 and ESP32-C3 with built-in 1.14" display all in one! Interestingly, you can switch from the RP2040 or ESP32 by reversing the USB-C connector? I'm not sure how much this can do. But it certainly sounds like fun. And the price isn't too bad either! Too bad I just bought 2 PicoW's. The wife would certainly call me out for getting this one as well. But I figured this group...

Further to the PicoW, or PiCow, depending on how you read it: I found this helpful tidbit in the forum as well: Re: Raspberry Pi Pico W / WH / H Thread: Your 6 $ IoT platform https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=336764&start=100#p2016937 Report this post https://forums.raspberrypi.com/app.php/post/2016937/report Quote https://forums.raspberrypi.com/posting.php?mode=quote&p=2016937 Mon Jul 04, 2022 8:31 am https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?p=2016937#p2016937 I read somewhere that...

After poking a few forums, I just got confirmation that: BT can be accessed via SPI on the CYW43439 chip. But it needs a firmware blob update on it first. And they are actively working on it, with some success, but they are trying to get it stable before releasing it. Also, it seems I'm recently locked out of the mecrisp forum? Weird. At only $6 each, that wouldn't be so bad. If it weren't for the $15 shipping and the single board purchase limit. But I ordered one from PiHut, which might take a while to get here. And one from PiShop.us which is due Thursday! But PiHut is also sending the stacking headers which I find much better than the regular headers. That way I can plug in a display or other Pico Base and still be able to connect other things, like the FTDI to UART0 for serial. Curiously, on the Raspberry Pi blog, one of the...
