I've been working with an extensive cinema library for several years. I've experimented with all kinds of software. Currently, I'm converting all movies to mkv container format. While I'm at it, I decided to spend some time acquiring and depositing metadata from sites like IMDB and TMDB in the files' metadata secions. I've found a program to do that. In the middle of the issue, I realized many of the programs I use have different ways of handling movie metadata and they, generally, do not use the...
I did some research and found that Mediainfo does support the tags, but no one seems to be using them. The tags are part of the EBUCore/PBCore standards. Consider this closed.
Hello, I decided to do some research and discovered that the tags aren't missing; no one's using them. I'm referring to EBUCore/PBCore standards. Manufacturers and producers are not using the tags when releasing video. I ran across a tagging software, MetaX, that made me more aware of this. Thank you for the software programs and your contributions,Jim Julian On Monday, February 6, 2023 at 04:39:22 AM EST, Jerome Martinez zenitram@users.sourceforge.net wrote: What I meant is tags from IMDB already...
Hello, Thanks for responding. What I meant is tags from IMDB already placed in the file by a user. I'm preparing to tag many videos with IMDB data and thought MediaInfo would be much enhanced by adding the standard movie tags to the list of metadata already read by MediaInfo. Thanks again for responding. Popular tag inclusion=no IMDB
Thanks for the consideration.
I've been installing and testing media servers. There are quite a few. My current program has some issues, though the presentation is good. I got to mulling over possibilities and the thought occurred to me that Media Companion is close to being a media server. I think the addition of a DLNA server might complete the job. A couple of the better servers have a browser option. Open a local IP address and get the server pages. My TV has both, LAN and WiFi connections and a builtin web browser (LG webOS)....
A question: does MC have the ability to rename files after the titles in the .nfo files? What about automatically editing the file metadata tags? The idea is to rename a file to the 'official' title and add the appropriate metadata to the file. Ideally this would be done using IMDB, or similar, as a reference. If not, what about downloading and compiling the IMDB databases and running a script(already written) that does the same? Thanks.
